The Catalyst is a collaboration with technology partners Amazon Web Services (AWS), NTT Data, AwareX and Prodapt, as well as service provider partners Telefónica, O2 Telefónica, Verizon, Viasat and Aussie Broadband.

The communications sector is being reshaped by new technologies encompassing Mobile, Cloud, 5G, AI, and machine learning. This in turn has led to a proliferation of digital services from a growing number of Communications Services Providers (CSPs) – and with it, raising customer expectations. Against this backdrop, CSPs have the opportunity to fully embrace digital growth, supported by new partnerships and alliances across the evolving value network, become more customer-centric than ever before and reinvent their business wholesale, through greater openness, agility, innovation and customer obsession.

With this in mind, this collaborative Catalyst is centered on AI-driven Offer Lifecycle Management. This currently includes two, complementary parts: i) AI-assisted offer personalization, and ii) AI-assisted catalogue rationalisation. This uses AI to assemble personalised offers and pricing based on a customer’s specific needs and other existing data, such as previous interactions, while scoring each offer’s potential for success. It will also use AI-assisted catalogue rationalisation, to analyse all created offers based on their commercial success and provide recommendations to CSP product and marketing teams to simplify their catalogue structure across existing brands, providing a sound basis for generating and selling future offers. The Catalyst has been modelled around offers based on a combination of Mobile, broadband internet, TV services, and home security. Eventually, it will support more complex offers spanning Pay-TV, streaming media, and other digital services.

With this Catalyst, the Hansen team will showcase first-hand how the CSP of today can become an agile, innovative, AI-driven digital service provider, capable of creating tailored, data-driven offers for each customer, and accelerating open, AI-powered innovation – all key traits of today’s leading tech companies (TechCos). Other benefits include lowering the time and cost of creating, delivering, and managing personalised customer offers at scale, driving increased sales among new and existing customers, and improving the overall customer experience.
