WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS AT HANSEN
At Hansen Technologies, we recognise that business performance today extends beyond profitability. We are committed to operating a sustainable business that creates long-term value for our customers, people, communities and shareholders.
Our Sustainability Strategy is the foundation of this commitment. It embeds responsible practices across our business and aligns with our material topics, stakeholder expectations, AASB S2 principles, the UN Global Compact and selected Sustainable Development Goals.
Built around three pillars – Environment, Social and Governance – our strategy integrates sustainability into decision-making, operations and disclosure.

Materiality Matrix
Our materiality matrix sits at the core of our Sustainability Strategy, shaping priorities, guiding decisions, and informing how we measure, manage and report on sustainability outcomes across our global business. It ensures we focus action and disclosure on the issues that matter most to our stakeholders and long-term performance.

OUR CLIMATE REPORT
We respect the interconnectedness of climate and sustainability issues within our broader operations. Our plan is to undertake regular assessments of our environmental risks and opportunities. This will enable us to continuously improve our ability to adapt to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all the regions of our operations.
Our Climate Report is embedded in our FY25 Sustainability Report, which provides detailed information about our approach and considers the TCFD framework. It sets the foundation for Australia’s forthcoming mandatory climate-related financial disclosures.
OUR ENVIRONMENT
We embrace a precautionary approach to environmental challenges, actively pursuing initiatives that foster greater environmental responsibility while delivering economic value to our stakeholders. From selecting sustainable buildings and making eco-friendly energy choices to managing waste and e-waste responsibly, our efforts are woven into every aspect of our operations. We also strive to uplift the communities where we live and work.
Our commitment to minimising our environmental impact reaches beyond operations and extends throughout our entire supply chain. As a software company that services the energy and communication sectors, Hansen also plays a pivotal role in supporting the reduction of the carbon footprint of these sectors.
OUR JOURNEY TO NET ZERO
At Hansen, we recognise the responsibility businesses share in helping limit global temperature rise to 1.5 °C. We remain committed to reducing our carbon footprint through sustainable practices and continuous improvement across our operations.
As part of this journey, Hansen previously participated in the Climate Active program, and our Australian operations were certified as carbon neutral for several years. Hansen withdrew from the Climate Active program on 13 January 2026.
As a global business, Hansen has now benchmarked its total global emissions. Looking ahead, we intend to take a comprehensive global approach to emissions measurement and reduction. Our focus will be to establish an emissions reduction pathway aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) principles. While carbon offsetting may remain an option for hard‑to‑abate emissions in the future, our immediate priority is on measurable and sustained emissions reductions across our operations.

Our focus on maintaining strong governance and security practices to ensure transparency, accountability and ethical conduct, and a proactive approach to risk management, are key enablers for our overall Sustainability Strategy.
DATA PRIVACY AND CYBERSECURITY
Data privacy and cybersecurity are vital to our business.
While we work to reduce the risk of cyberattacks, we recognise that not all can be prevented. To help mitigate risks, we have strong IT security governance and incident response protocols to proactively protect data and enhance the resilience of our global operations.
