Sigma Systems recognized as a Top Employer by Globe & Mail for the Second Year

Sigma Systems today announced that it has received the Greater Toronto Top Employers Award 2016 from the Globe & Mail.

This is the second year Sigma Systems has received this special designation that recognizes Greater Toronto employers  who lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Grading is based on many factors including the physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

Sigma’s commitment to employee development and training; profit-sharing bonuses ; a benefits package that starts day one for new hires;  and a fun social atmosphere have made it an attractive place to work for 100+ Toronto employees and more than 400 globally.

Another enticing Sigma workplace feature: management who is accessible and listens. “I can walk into our CEO’s office without an appointment to discuss an issue at almost any time – and I have,” said Shawn Henshall, a long-standing Sigma Systems employee from the Product Management department,  “That’s empowering.”

“Attracting and retaining top talent is crucial in a fast-paced tech industry, and we’re honored to have so many people feel at home here” said Tim Spencer, CEO, Sigma Systems. “Being recognized with the Top Employers Award  for the second year in a row showcases our dedication to our employees. Their success is the real driver behind our ongoing global market success.”

Sigma Staff have also committed over 1,200 hours this year to social causes around the globe . Since 2007, they have supported Free the Children’s efforts on behalf of two villages in India. In total, Sigma employees have raised more than $500,000 for the Canadian charity.

Says Spencer: “Our people want to be engaged in social causes and feel good about what they are doing.”

“We are very proud of the dedication and hard work demonstrated by our team,” said Jocelyn Bryce, Vice President Human Resources, Sigma Systems. “Receiving this award for the second time running is a testament to our commitment to creating a fantastic work environment for all of our employees.”
